MM are working with Cityheart and partners, including Halton Borough Council and Plus Dane Housing, to deliver the first phase of new homes at Foundry Lane in Widnes, part of the Liverpool City Region.
Watson Construction has been appointed to carry out the works, which are already underway. Phase 1 will deliver 63 two- and three-bedroom affordable homes, offering a mix of shared ownership and rental options. The wider masterplan encompasses over 300 new homes, delivered in phases across 20 acres of former industrial land in Halebank, Widnes.
The Foundry Lane masterplan is an ambitious project to transform land that was previously the operational site for Stobart and Tarmac into a vibrant new residential neighbourhood. Cityheart was appointed as Halton Borough Council’s development partner in 2022, and the scheme has since undergone a redesign and land remediation by specialist contractor P.P. O’Connor.
Sustainable design has been integrated throughout, maximising thermal efficiency and incorporating renewable technologies including photovoltaic (solar) panels and air source heat pumps.
MM are providing Project Management, Employers Agent, Quantity Surveying, and Quality Monitoring services for the scheme. The core project team also includes Corstorphine & Wright (architect), Curtins (engineer), Zerum (planner), DEP (landscape architect), and TACE (MEP).
